Veterans Mentor Courts

NDCI in collaboration with the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) within the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is pleased to present the Mentor Veterans Treatment Court Programs.

NDCI Veterans Mentor Courts will serve as model court programs for individuals and court teams interested in starting an Veterans Treatment Court, or for established courts interested in learning innovative practices.  Applicants are encouraged to apply to be selected to participate in the Mentor Court visits.

Visit requests are reviewed based on the needs of the applying jurisdiction to include which Mentor Court would best serve those needs.   If approved, NDCI can fund up to three (3) visitors from an applying jurisdiction.  Costs covered include transportation, lodging, and meals.  Airline tickets and hotel are paid for directly by NDCI with other expenses reimbursed upon completion of the visit.  All funded visitors are required to complete a brief, online evaluation upon their return and before reimbursement.
